Hallo zusammen,

das ist nun also mein erster Eintrag in diesem Blog. Worum es geht, kann man auf dieser Seite erfahren in den diversen Menüpunkten.

Kurz gefasst: Ich werde von New York City nach San Francisco fahren – mit dem Rad. Knapp 8000km und am 28.7. geht es los! Die Flüge sind längst gebucht, das Visum ist da, das Equipment größtenteils beisammen, die Route grob geplant, die Webseite hochgeladen, die Facebook-Seite fast fertig. Jetzt nur noch zwei Klausuren schreiben und dann geht es los.

Letzte Woche war ich noch bei einem meiner Sponsoren, dem Radladen Velocity in Bonn, um mein Rad reisetauglich zu machen. Danke nochmal an das Team für die tolle Unterstützung :)!

Noch zwei grundsätzliche Sachen:

1. Ich verbinde das ganze mit einem guten Zweck. Genaueres findet ihr im Unterpunkt im obigen Menü. Ich fände es toll, wenn mit der Tour und euren Spenden lebensbedrohlich erkrankte Kinder unterstützt werden könnten! Insofern freue ich mich über jeden, der diese Reise verfolgt, spendet und ein bisschen Werbung dafür macht, damit der Erfolg noch größer wird.
2. In diesem Blog werde ich versuchen mindestens einmal die Woche einen längeren Bericht mit Bildern hochzuladen. Zusätzlich werde ich noch eine kleine Facebook-Seite anlegen, auf der ich dann öfters kleinere Updates poste.

So, das war es erstmal. Der hoffentlich langweiligste Post, aber ich wollte auch die Startseite mit etwas Leben füllen. Achja, und um Kontakt aufzunehmen: c2c13@gmx.de

Hey everyone,

so this is it: my first entry in this blog. You can find all the important information about my project on this page.

In general: I’m going to ride my bike from New York City to San Francisco – about 8000km/5000miles. I’m leaving in exactly 16 days on July 28th and I’m almost ready. The flights are booked, I got almost all of the equipment and my visa for the US, the route is planned, the webpage and facebook page almost done. Now I just need to take my last two exams and the adventure can begin.

Last week I was at one of my sponsors, the bike shop Velocity in Bonn, to get my bike ready for the trip. Thanks again to the team for the amazing support :)!

Two last general comments:

1. I’m combining my trip with a good cause. You can find all the details on this page and I think it would be great if the tour and your donations could support children with life-threatening diseases! That’s why I’d be happy about anyone following this, donating and sharing the page in order to make it succesful!
2. I’ll try to write on this blog at least once a week with pictures and all that stuff. In addition to that, I’ll have a facebook page where I’ll be uploading smaller updates more frequently.
